Stepping Stones of NJ - January Meetup
Stepping Stones of NJ is a collaboration with Spectrum Health and Wellness, Tertium Quid, Bergen LGBTQ Center, and PFLAG Paramus. It is a safe space for parents to meet with a peer facilitator for support, learning, and encouragement on their journey parenting a transgender and/or gender-diverse child.
Children (ages 5-10) and youth (ages 11-14) will meet separately with mental health practitioners and/or youth workers for arts/crafts, sports, discussiona nd/or other community-building experiences with friends who have a shared lived experience. Youth of all ages are encouraged to attend.

These evenings are designed to be a welcoming and inclusive space where LGBTQ folks can come together to share a meal and reclaim their faith in a supportive community. This is part of a larger series where we hope to share food, foster meaningful connections, and engage in uplifting conversations. Come as you are, and let us create a sacred space where love, acceptance, and faith can thrive.

LGBTQ Parenting Circle (with child care!)
The "Parenting Circle" is a compassionate and inclusive support group tailored for LGBTQ parents, providing a nurturing space where individuals can share experiences, exchange advice, and build a strong sense of community. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by LGBTQ parents, the circle fosters an environment of understanding and acceptance. What sets this group apart is its commitment to inclusivity by offering on-site childcare during meetings, ensuring that parents can fully engage in discussions and activities without concerns about childcare responsibilities. The Parenting Circle aims to create a supportive network that not only addresses the specific needs of LGBTQ parents but also celebrates the diversity of families within the community. The Parenting Circle meets on the second Saturday of every month. Registration is required.

Youth Dungeon's and Dragons (Tuesdays at 4:15 pm)
Our youth Dungeons & Dragons games are created in partnership with East Side Mags in Montclair and Erik Cheski of Dungeons on the Go!
Our games are Allies-Only, PG-rated, and center on inclusivity and collaboration. This time is also specially crafted for young adventurers seeking a welcoming space to explore the realms of identity through fantasy, friendship, and community. They are guided by experienced Dungeon Master Erik Cheski, and tailored to welcome both seasoned players and beginners.

FREE Narcan (naloxone) Training
Join us this Pride Month for an empowering workshop aimed at equipping members of the LGBTQ+ community and allies with the life-saving skills needed to respond to opioid overdoses. In this interactive session, participants will learn how to administer Narcan (naloxone), a medication that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose and potentially save lives.
2024 State of Our Schools
Join us for a critical panel discussion on the current state of school safety, with a special focus on the integration of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI), and LGBTQ-affirming policies and curricula. This workshop brings together experts in education policy, mental health, and community advocacy to identify current issues and explore effective strategies to ensure safe, inclusive and supportive learning environments for every student.
Our panelists will delve into the challenges and successes of implementing DEI initiatives and LGBTQ-friendly practices within educational settings. Attendees will gain insights into recent activities in school boards across the state, and discuss the impact of policy discussions and changes on overall school safety.
This session is designed for community members, educators, policy makers, and advocates who are committed to fostering an educational landscape where diversity is not only respected but celebrated. Our Inclusive Sex Education Workshop is a nurturing space designed for LGBTQ adults and parents of LGBTQ youth, fostering open and affirming discussions about sexual health, relationships, and identity. Guided by Spectrum’s commitment to inclusivity and respect, this workshop provides a safe environment to explore topics relevant to the diverse experiences within the LGBTQ community. Led by health educator Liz Amaya-Fernandez (they/she), this workshop aims to equip participants with the knowledge and tools necessary for fostering supportive, informed, and inclusive environments at home, with their partners, and within the wider LGBTQ community.
